How Retail Market Shop collects, uses and protects your information.

This privacy policy explains what personal information Retail Market Shop ("we", "us") collects through retailmarketshop.com, how we use it and the choices you have. We are based in Rochester, New York.
Information we collect
- Order details: name, email, phone number, delivery address, the items you order and any notes you add at checkout.
- Messages: what you send through the contact form or by email.
- Newsletter: your email address if you subscribe to The Market Letter.
- Basic technical data: your browser and device type, and pages viewed, as recorded in our hosting provider's standard server logs.
We do not collect payment card numbers on our website. Payments are made through a secure link from our payment provider, which handles your card details under its own privacy policy and PCI DSS security rules.
Your cart is stored on your device
Your shopping cart, selected shipping method and promo code are saved in your own browser's local storage so they are still there when you return. This data stays on your device until you place an order, empty the cart or clear your browser data. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use your information
- To process, ship and support your orders and send the payment link and order emails.
- To answer your questions and handle returns.
- To send the newsletter if you asked for it.
- To prevent fraud and meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations under New York law.
Sharing
We share information only with service providers who help us run the store, such as our payment provider, shipping carriers, our fulfilment warehouse, our email and form delivery service and our web host, and only as needed for those services. We do not sell or rent your personal information.
How long we keep it
Order and tax records are kept for at least six years, as required for New York sales tax records. Messages are kept for up to two years. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe.
Security and breach notification
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards, as required by the New York SHIELD Act (General Business Law section 899-bb). If a breach of your private information occurs, we will notify you and the relevant New York authorities as required by General Business Law section 899-aa.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email or our unsubscribe page.
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing support@retailmarketshop.com. We will respond within 30 days. Some records must be kept for legal reasons.
Children
Our store is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy and will change the date at the top when we do.
